What is a Personal Training Session Like?
Each session lasts about an hour, sometimes longer depending on the situation. The first meeting is always devoted to assessing fitness level, body composition index, exercise and health history and goals, I provide this initial assessment no charge. You will be weighed, have your body fat tested and answer specific questions about your goals. After that, depending on what your specific goals are, you'll spend most of your time on strength training and cardio.

Before I decided to take that step towards a life of fitness, I was very nervous to take on a personal trainer to help me with my fitness goals. All the personal trainers at the gym I go to in New York City are so intimidating and I was just not interested to ask those trainers for help with my health and exercise questions or how to use the fitness equipment at the gym. When I saw Christer helping a woman bodybuilder out at the treadmill who was having trouble with that particular fitness equipment, I noticed he was charismatic and personable - and had a wonderful smile. In most fitness gyms that I train and exercise, I have never seen a personal trainer offer help for nothing in return or seem to have genuine interest in a person's fitness or health goal. I overheard him ask if she had any exact bodybuilding fitness goals and after learning what type of training she was after he gave her a great fitness workout that she could do at the gym or at home with her home fitness equipment, which he found out she had at home with his line of fitness questioning. After the workout and helping her on the treadmill at the gym, I decided that if I wanted to get anywhere with my own personal fitness goals I should talk with this club trainer right away. Two words: Blown Away! When I asked him for help, the first thing he asked me was what was my fitness goal. What was it that I wanted to achieve with health and fitness and why was it that I was in the gym in the first place. I was astounded with his frankness, because why was I in this health club? When I explained I wanted to lose weight and tone up, he explained that as a personal trainer he heard this fitness goal all the time and understood and knew how to help with my fitness needs. He offered to give me a fitness workout with his spare time to show me what he had to offer as a personal trainer and I was amazed how he met my fitness concerns. He had an exercise for everything! If I wanted bodybuilding for a part of my body he knew how to give it a workout. If I was concerned with any weaknesses he gave me a great strength training workout on getting stronger like any sports athlete. After the personal fitness evaluation and workout I learned of many postural deformities and muscular imbalances I had, and Christer showed me a numerous number of workout techniques I could do to correct my posture and muscle imbalance. I had never heard of a muscle imbalance until I trained with Christer. He pointed out during our personal fitness training assessment that I had several muscular and postural imbalances resulting from being seated all the time at work with my desk job. Convinced, I took Christer on as my personal trainer to get me into shape and ever since then I have adopted a life of health and fitness, I have better stamina and endurance, I am much better at sports, and my self confidence is through the roof. As far as the transformation of my body, I dropped six percent of my body fat and my body takes on a leaner and fit appearance.
